Judgment Day Billboards
Billboards state May 21 2011 will be Doomsday
From Oakland to Los Angeles, billboards warning of the May 21 Judgment Day can be found scattered throughout cities and on signs near Highways. Supporters of Harold Camping, and the idea that May 21 2011 will bring the Rapture with the Second Coming of Jesus, have strategically placed these billboards to help spread the word. It’s impossible to confirm that 5/21/2011 will be the day of Judgment, but based on all of the signs of the Apocalypse, I think that there is a good chance that the End Times are coming. The recent tornadoes in the midwest, fires in Texas, and massive Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan are all warnings from God that Jesus will soon be sent to Earth for Armageddon.
Why would they pay the money to place billboards all over the place? Family Radio and Harold Camping don’t really gain much from the exposure, but instead appear to sincerely want to spread the word of God. The Bible states that 7000 years after the great flood, Jesus will return to rule over the Earth for 5 months before God’s End of the World on October 21, 2011. The Times of the End are a very scary thing for both religious, and non-religious folks who struggle with their faith, as well as the faith of their loved ones. Those saved in the Rapture will be taken away from their earthly families in an instant as they are saved by God and will spend the rest of eternity in his glory.
Atheists Claim May 21 Doomsday is Fake
They’ve seen Harold Camping’s fleet of RV’s notifying the public of the May 21 Doomsday, and they’ve now put up their own Billboards about Judgment Day. In the Oakland area, the American Atheists group has paid the money to combat Family Radio’s valiant attempt to notify followers of Christ about the Rapture. Will these signs sway either side more towards believing that May 21 is fake or real? Probably not, but it sure has made for an interesting climate in the faithful communities of the Bay Area.
How much does it cost to post a Billboard about Judgment Day? Well, apparently the American Atheists shelled out about $27,000 for the Billboard claiming that May 21 is fake, but that cost seems well worth it to the organization. Truth of the matter is that no Billboard will determine the Second Coming of Jesus – only God can decide that. What do YOU think of the Judgment Day Billboards?
